Guided Wave Ultrasonic Inspection

PetroChem opened a new era in inspections which can characterize long runs of pipe from a single set-up point using our long-range guided wave. The tool is a low-frequency ultrasonic device that can detect corrosion in pipe up to 300 feet in either direction from a single inspection point.

This method requires that insulation be removed or access provided to only 24 inches of clean pipe with 6 inches of clearance above and below circumferentially. The tool can handle pipe sizes from two inches to 60 inches in diameter.

The collar uses guided wave to expand the information envelope to 300 feet.
